Kick it! - International Women's Football Camp
August 3rd - 15th 2009 in Leipzig (Germany)
Between August 3rd and 15th 2009 Leipzig (Germany) for the second time will become the meeting place for about 30 young ladies from Algeria, Jordan, Bulgaria, Malta, Palestine and Germany who are mad about football. Thus Leipzig, the traditional sports' city and scene of the Football WM 2006, once more will host a unique sporting event. For two weeks young women football players from Arab and European countries are invited to train together in the founding city of the German Football Association, and to learn from and about one another beyond national and religious borders.
This is a project of Eurient e.V., and it will take place under the patronage of Anuschka Bernhard, youth coordinator of the football club Hertha BSC.
In light of the current discourses on Islam and Gender, the training camp is to make possible a "Dialogue of Cultures" - because: Kick It! There's no offside for women!
